ABOUT THE AUTHORS
MICHAEL BLOCH is the author or editor of some twenty works. He read law at St John’s College, Cambridge and was called to the bar by the Inner Temple. During the 1980s he assisted Maître Suzanne Blum, the Paris lawyer of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and wrote six books about the couple. A friend of the writer and National Trust luminary James Lees-Milne, he edited five volumes of his diary and wrote his biography. His other subjects include Hitler’s foreign minister Ribbentrop, the British politician Jeremy Thorpe, and F. M. Alexander, founder of the Alexander Technique. He lives in London.
SUSAN FOX is a historical researcher with special interest in the Bloomsbury Group. The authors she has assisted include Nigel Nicolson with his father’s diaries and letters, Anne Chisholm with her biographies of Frances Partridge and Dora Carrington, and Laura Trevelyan with her study of her mother’s family, the Winchesters. She has organised and catalogued numerous manuscript collections. She lives in the Hudson Valley near New York City with her husband and dogs.
